This course surveys the history of the various advents of Christianity in China, through the missionaries during Tang, Yuan, Ming dynasties to the arrival of Protestant missionaries in the modern period. It aims to clarify the various reasons for either the decline or development of Christianity in China. Most importantly, this course seeks to draw relevant lessons from history as we explore the opportunities and challenges amidst the rise of modern China.

Course will be conducted in English, with PowerPoint slides in both English and Chinese.
