Leading Worship All Through Life

Xmas23.10

A.W. Tozer once said ‘In the heavenly scene, John describes, the living creatures crying ‘Holy, holy, holy!’ rest neither day nor night, (so) make worship a natural and spontaneous part of our Christian life, now on earth and ultimately in heaven.’

As I look back on my Christian life journey, I cannot help but marvel at how God has enabled me to play this role of facilitating the worship of Him all through that journey.

Xmas23.8

I followed my parents to Telok Ayer Methodist Church since young but only meaningfully said the Sinner’s Prayer at a ‘Youth for Christ’ (YFC) meeting in school when I was 13 years old. Shortly thereafter, I was roped into the YFC Committee and my church’s Sunday School Committee. I started  leading worship from then and have never stopped doing so up to this day. I must say that I have always enjoyed making melody to the Lord and went into it willingly and enthusiastically. Thereafter, I was one of the pioneers from Telok Ayer MC that set up the English-speaking Grace Methodist Church.

May our churches find worship natural, spontaneous and joyful all through life!

My worship leading has followed me through all the seasons of my life – from youth to a father of 3 and now grandfather of 2. My daughter has herself taken on this role of worship leading since her school days and today, she also conducts courses for the worship singers of other churches as  a calling. My 2 other children have also been in the worship band since young and singing praises has always been a part of our family. My family life has centred largely on worship and I hope to stretch that to the larger church family. May our churches find worship natural, spontaneous and joyful all through life!
